I was regularly visiting San Francisco in the late 2010s when the tech bro community was really ginning this story up. Was it an ugly clash of both the promise and the failure of US economics? Yeah. Was their shit on the streets? Also yeah. Did I ever feel unsafe? Not really. Anecdata but I remain skeptical because of these Helen Lovejoy-level overstatements.
You're forgetting the part where he is a near majority shareholder in spacex, so half of the profit made on your dollar spend winds up benefiting him personally.

No, it doesn't. Aside from the face-slappingly obvious fact that SpaceX is losing a half a billion dollars a quarter, that's not how corporate revenue works. Unless the corporate profits are paid out in dividends, you don't just get to hoover them up as a shareholder.
His site has always looked like this, i'm sure of it. This is what sites look like if you just write them as text. Not everybody knows how to use sql or css or java or whatever thing it is that lets you pick the font.
I'm almost certain he used to have a reasonably styled website. I just tried to look it up but it looks like he's excluded the website from WayBackMachine.

lol at the idea that Dan Luu can't add css to his website by copypasting some links into his html. He could make the site readable in about 3 mins and never have to worry about it again.
BTW this is just the first such library I found. There are lots of 'em, and all very well documented, requiring less knowledge to use than what it takes to publish a blog... which he's mastered.
Honestly I prefer the minimal style because I add my own to many pages as it is, or use the built-in reader or a reader extension. People have much different opinions on what's readable.

Opinions are dime a dozen, but readability (and usability in general) is a well-studied field and having to move your head from side to side to read text that stretches the width of a screen is objectively bad for readability. That's just one example.
And making the website readable for the majority does not prevent one from using the built-in reader or an extension.
They still haven't got native scrolling perfect for iOS. I used a big name app just today and I could instantly tell without looking it up that it was a flutter app, because the scrolling felt non-native.
You definitely should, it's grown a lot and Dart 3.0+ in general is a much nicer language than before, due to adopting functional features as well as having a garbage collector.
I've hallucinated with fevers before, and they do feel surprising that you swear you are awake, but perhaps you're really in a twilight between awake and asleep and the dreams break through.
It's definitely... unique?
