Lift is a web application framework, written in Scala. Scala is a programming language. You would run this application with an HTTP server/servlet container like Jetty (optionally putting a different HTTP server/reverse proxy/load-balancer in front of that, like nginx).
Sorry, but I failed to understand: is this a web server, a programming language...? I don't exactly get, what it does and for what I should use it.
