I was under the impression that ACID3 no longer represented the web standards as documented by W3C, and a fully compliant browser should in fact fail ACID3?

They should release an up-to-date version of the test then, Maybe call it Acid3.11 for Workgroups, or something.


Technically yes, but only some niche parts of the original test do not apply anymore. Firefox and Chrome "fail" the test with a score of 97/100, a large part of it is still useful.
