In my experience, both breadth and depth. Not only do the STEM guys know more humanities material, they comprehend it better. I can only conclude that this is because of The Sort because '90s philosophy majors and so on are still quite smart and capable people. The ability to turn skill into money contingent on credentials has turned the Humanities into a population of people too bumbling to do anything else.
